Biography

A dairy farmer from Durrow, Co Laois, he is actively involved in the ‘Acorn’ discussion group. He has been chairman and held other officer positions in his local branch of IFA. He was also an active member of Macra na Feirme. Seamus raised funds for Self-Help Africa, a charity which implements agricultural and rural development projects in conjunction with local community based organisations, government agencies, international NGOs and private sector partners mainly in East Africa. His study topic was ‘Optimising the Grazing Platform’and he travelled to Australia and New Zealand to conduct his study.
