Originally from Co Galway, he is currently living near Dunmore East in Co Waterford. He has a B.Comm degree and is a qualified accountant. He manages a large dairy farming enterprise and is also still involved in the family dairy farm in Galway. He is a member of the Council of Glanbia Co-op. His study topic was ‘Capitalising on the Potential of Farming Collaborations in Ireland’. He travelled to Australia, NZ, USA and UK in pursuit of his topic.
