John Buckley from Bantry in West Cork was been awarded the FBD Trust Nuffield Scholarship 2015. His study topic is “Satellite Farm – Building a Team for Success”. John is married to Marguerite and is farming in a Milk Production Partnership with his parents on their home farm. They farm 120 ha and calve 190 cows between Autumn and Spring herds. He graduated from CIT and Clonakilty Agricultural College with a Higher Certificate in Science in Agriculture in 2005, and has completed work experience in both New Zealand and the UK. John was appointed to the Teagasc Authority by the Minister for Agriculture in 2018, he is an active Macra na Feirme member and was FBD Young Farmer of the Year 2013.
