Biography

Owen Brodie is a dairy farmer, near Virginia in Co. Cavan. He is married to Rose Mary, together they have 3 teenage children .He previously ran a large goat farm in Westmeath and also was involved in the making of Boilie Cheese. He believes in a strong rural community and sees Co-ops important to achieving this. Owen’s study topic is titled “The role Co-ops play in encouraging viable dairy farming, in marginal areas.” His report examines the importance of the co-op to the farmer and that by working together with clear purpose they can achieve great things.
